Field note

L.A. Marzulli, an author and documentary filmmaker, tells Tony Merkel how a book by Dr. I. D. E. Thomas changed the direction of his work. Then he lays out what he calls the seed war. He reads Genesis 3:15 as the first prophecy, with the serpent’s offspring at war with the woman’s, and treats Genesis 6, Babel and Sodom as later rounds of the same war. He cites Josephus for giant bones once on display at Hebron, argues that the Sethite reading came late, and takes Daniel 2:43 as a warning for the latter days. He treats Jude’s quotation of 1 Enoch as evidence that the apostles knew the book. The episode also covers his own fieldwork claims, including alien implants and the Newark Earthworks in Ohio, whose level engineering he treats as unexplained. For the through-line, Marzulli is the clearest voice in the Library for reading ancient giants, modern UFOs and end-times prophecy as one conflict. His remarks on Lovelock Cave and mound skeletons are presented below as his claims.

Key claims

  1. L.A. Marzulli · 0:13:22 · Documented

“the bones of a Nephilim, which had countenances so, you know, unlike any normal human being, were openly on display in Hebron.”

He attributes this to Josephus. The likely passage is Antiquities 5.2.3, which Marzulli does not cite.

  2. L.A. Marzulli · 0:44:48 · Interpretive

“You never explain Genesis three fifteen, which in my opinion sets up the rest of the biblical prophetic narrative.”

The basis of his “seed war” reading.

  3. L.A. Marzulli · 0:45:12 · Interpretive

“the whole Sephite theory wasn't invented until the fourth century.”

“Sephite” is the transcript’s spelling of Sethite. Editor’s check: Marzulli names Julius Africanus as the source of the Sethite reading. Africanus is usually dated to the early third century.

  4. L.A. Marzulli · 0:48:34 · Interpretive

“their seed will mingle with the seed of men, but they will not cleave to them.”

His paraphrase of Daniel 2:43, which he reads as applying to “the latter days.”

  5. L.A. Marzulli · 0:50:18 · Documented

“So Jude is quoting Jude is quoting from what he knows.”

Jude 14–15 quotes 1 Enoch 1:9. Marzulli argues this shows the book was familiar to Jude.

  6. L.A. Marzulli · 0:22:07 · Speculative

“We've taken implants out of people that were abducted and then implanted.”

His account of his own fieldwork. No independent documentation is given in the episode.

Marzulli on Lovelock Cave and mound skeletons

This is L.A. Marzulli’s claim, not Expedition Genesis’s view. Editor’s context: the mound-skeleton framing has a history of erasing Native Americans from their own monuments.

  • L.A. Marzulli · 0:59:33 · Speculative

“red haired, cannibalistic six finger giants”

    About Lovelock Cave.

  • L.A. Marzulli · 1:03:42 · Speculative

“what if we're not native American”

    About skeletons from the mounds.

Scripture and texts named

Genesis 3:15. Genesis 6. Numbers 13:33 (“like grasshoppers”). Genesis 11 (Babel). Genesis 19 (Sodom). Daniel 2:43. Daniel 12:4 (paraphrased: “run to and fro,” “Knowledge increases”). “As in the days of Noah” (Matthew 24:37; verse not cited). 2 Thessalonians 2. 1 Corinthians 15:51. Jude. 1 Enoch. Josephus. G. H. Pember, Earth’s Earliest Ages. Dr. I. D. E. Thomas.

Where it disagrees

Marzulli reads the giants of Canaan as Nephilim. Wayne (Blurry Creatures 419, Confessionals 621) says the Anakim are Rephaim, a separate post-flood kind. Marzulli and Wayne both use Daniel 2:43. Marzulli treats it as a plain warning, and Wayne holds it more loosely (“We need to be open to what might happen”). Marzulli’s hidden-history framing (“the powers that be don’t want to rewrite history,” 0:56:27) runs against Pasulka (EP 126), who argues the institutions she studied are not hiding what they hold.

Quotes are verbatim from the episode audio. Timestamps mark the first word of each quote in the audio file we worked from, which includes inserted ads, so your player may differ by a few minutes. Runtime is the length of that file. Labels (Documented, Interpretive, Speculative) describe the kind of claim the speaker is making. They are not an Expedition Genesis endorsement.
