Field note
In his solo Genesis 6 episode, Tim Alberino builds his reading from the beginning. He starts with creation, a heavenly “elder race,” and Adam’s grant of dominion over the earth, and only then reaches Genesis 6:1. His argument runs in steps. The sons of God are the Watchers of 1 Enoch. “Watcher” names a job, guardian or warden, rather than a kind of creature. They looked like men, not reptiles or grays. They married, fathered giant sons and ruled through them “by proxy.” He reads 1 Enoch 6 aloud and treats it as the source Genesis drew on. He also pictures the descent on Mount Hermon as a fleet of craft, which ties the Watchers to modern UFO lore. Near the close he says he believes Bigfoot is real but does not think it is a Nephilim. For the through-line, the episode is the Library’s clearest statement of the dominion reading, and it shows how far one interpreter will carry the text.
Key claims
-
Tim Alberino · 1:03:16 · Speculative
“the author of Genesis literally copied and pasted the first paragraph from the book of Enoch.”
He says the narrative was “recompiled” in a post-flood setting.
-
Tim Alberino · 1:10:35 · Interpretive
“It is a descriptor of occupation.”
About the word “watcher,” which he glosses as warden or guardian, “just like the word angel.”
-
Tim Alberino · 1:08:16 · Interpretive
“They're not reptilian, they're not gray aliens,”
He reasons that the Watchers look like us because the sons of God do.
-
Tim Alberino · 1:30:14 · Speculative
“you probably saw a fleet of UFOs appear in the sky and and and land on the summit of Hermon.”
His picture of the descent of the 200 Watchers.
-
Tim Alberino · 1:41:25 · Speculative
“were able to rule by proxy from behind the thrones of their hybrid offspring.”
The Watchers ruling through their giant sons, who later became deified kings in pagan memory.
-
Tim Alberino · 2:14:59 · Speculative
“I think he's he's indigenous to the earth.”
About Bigfoot. Just before this he says, “I believe in Bigfoot as well.”
Tim Alberino on the Watchers’ appearance
This is Tim Alberino’s claim, not Expedition Genesis’s view.
-
Tim Alberino · 1:09:59 · Speculative
“probably blonde, golden blonde hair, blue eyed, green eyed, whatever, fair skinned entities”
About the Watchers. He adds, “This is not a racial commentary. That’s ignorant.” (1:10:05)
Scripture and texts named
Genesis 1 (read as a renewal of the earth). Genesis 3 (“the dragon slayer prophecy,” the seed of the woman). Genesis 6:1–4. 1 Enoch 6 (read aloud at 1:21:10). The Book of Jubilees (several kinds of giants). Aramaic ‘irin and Greek egregoroi (watchers). Mount Hermon. “We are going to judge angels” (1 Corinthians 6:3; he is unsure whether it is Paul or Peter). “A little lower than the angels” (Psalm 8:5; verse not cited).
Where it disagrees
Alberino on Bigfoot: indigenous, not Nephilim. Woodward (Confessionals 889): “leftover Nephilim.” Alberino on size: “The size is irrelevant to me” (1:40:49). Wayne (EP 419, Sasquatch Chronicles 1010) works out heights in feet. Alberino rejects the idea that the Watchers “inhabited other men” (1:59:50). Muddamalle (EP 262) leaves inhabitation open.
